Claudia is a member of the Camden Hi Steppers in Camden, SC where she calls for them on the 2nd Thursday of every month.

Claudia has been a square dancer since the 70’s! Her parents belonged to the Vagabond Squares and all the children of the dancers formed a youth group where she and her siblings danced for years.

At the 2019 Alabama State Square Dance Convention, Claudia participated in the Callerama, an amature event for anyone who wanted to try calling. That’s all it took to get her excited about calling. Her husband, Gary, encouraged her to become a caller and she has been working on her talent ever since.

In June of 2023 she participated in the GSI Caller School at the National Convention in Mobile. “I learned so much from the coaches and other “student” callers. It really helped me to hone my craft.”
